United we stand

Have received the following email from the South of Bath Alliance campaign group.

I leave it here for you to read.

“We have reached the point of no return and once again call on your support. The Planning Committee will be meeting next Wednesday morning at the Guildhall to decide on the Sulis Down planning application.

So please join us on Wednesday 15th November from 10:15 for a peaceful demonstration starting at 10:30 outside the Guildhall in Bath to help save the South Stoke Plateau from inappropriate development – the wrong houses in the wrong place, potentially creating traffic chaos.

We would welcome families with children and dogs and we will gather with banners and posters but do bring home-made posters or banners if you wish. The press will be there, possibly TV cameras.

Also do come along to the committee meeting itself. Sulis Down is the first main agenda item at 11:00. See our team and the parish and ward councillors going into bat for us all. Venue is the big room upstairs at the Guildhall so there’ll be plenty of space. If you can’t make the demo, do try to get to the meeting anyway. We could use your moral support.

This will remain a peaceful gathering but we are keen to demonstrate the strong level of support that we have with over 1,200 objections to the development of the South Stoke Plateau.”
