Dorothy House opens a new retail store on London Road in Bath next Thursday. They’ve taken over the old hairdressers next door to their existing charity shop – across the road from Morrisons – to launch a new lifestyle store designed to mirror the holistic care and beautiful surroundings of The Hospice itself.
Themed around nature, it will stock products and offer treatments designed to support personal wellbeing and help customers create their own calm, unique & definitive space at home.
The new Find Ubiety, from Dorothy House is the 27th store in the charity’s retail estate. Dorothy House retail stores deliver valuable income so that Dorothy House can provide free patient and family care for all in our community with a life limiting illness.
Rowena Midgley, Head of Retail says:
‘Opening a store on London Road in Bath, close to our already popular Furniture Store is opportunity to raise awareness of the wider cause connection between our Ubiety skincare and home fragrance range and our hospice services. Both share the common principle of holistic care and whole wellbeing, both during and at end of life.’
Dorothy House launched the Ubiety range of personal care and home fragrance products in 2020. Developed in partnership with Arcania Apothecary, each product promotes wellbeing and mindfulness through calming and empowering aromatherapy-based formulations inspired by nature – an antidote to busy, modern life.
Ubiety, pronounced ‘you-buy-a-tea’, is from the Latin ‘ubi’ or ‘where’. Meaning ‘feeling grounded in your own definitive space’, it perfectly encapsulates the retail offering of new and pre-loved goods curated to help create a sense of unique space at home and a unique sense of self, through positive lifestyle choices.
The combination of constantly changing donated goods, local independent brands and carefully sourced new goods will sit alongside the current Ubiety skin and homecare range. This means the Find Ubiety lifestyle store will have an ever-evolving offering and customers will be able to unearth new treasures every time they visit. It will be a place to discover new items and fresh ideas for making life more beautiful.
Hidden treasures, foraged and found, donated and discovered
There are a number of volunteering roles at the new store, and the retail team are inviting applications. The shop will open its doors to Bath and the local community on 28th September at 10.00am
