I wasn’t looking forward to going down into the basement of Bath’s former Central Post Office this morning.

For years it’s been the home of the city’s Postal Museum which has now closed following the death of its founder Audrey Swindells MBE.

In the floors above its hoped the city’s fantastic collection of heritage clothing through the ages will find a permanent home as a new Fashion Museum but – below – a smaller, but important collection, will have to be dispersed.

I went down to meet up with two of the museum’s trustees – John Rose and Nicholas Lennard – who l spoke to.
