[Tony Price and friend!]
Our man with a cam, Rob Coles has been back in action. This time in Claverton.
Rob tells me: “The 79th Annual Flower and Produce Show of the Claverton and District Horticultural Society was held on Saturday 2nd September.
President of the Society, Tony Price, said that the success of the show, with a record number of 800 entries, was very much down to the work of the enthusiastic committee.
The cups and trophies were awarded by the Deputy Mayor, Councillor Dr Bharat Pankhania
The good weather helped to attract a large number of visitors.that ensured many bids at the the auction held at the conclusion of the show conducted by Rob Appleyard.
Rob kindly accepted the invitation back to the show, following his great success in the role of auctioneer when Mayor at the previous years event.
It was a very successful real community occasion.
Artichoke was the name chosen for the show’s scarecrow motif, he was rather smarter than me!”
