In the bag

I have been getting quite a few comments from you just recently on the state of the streets in Bath’s inner city. Bird mess and rubbish from torn recycling and refuse bags is an all too familiar sight.

It’s my understanding that B&NES is very aware of the problem but has issues of its own with vehicles breaking down, staff sickness and recruitment challenges.

They’ve apparently now appointed a Waste Enforcement Officer whose job will be to work with businesses to ensure waste is put out for collection properly.

The waste companies operating around the city are supposed to provide gull-proof sacks and this is one thing the newly-appointed officer will be looking out for.
