Fringe fantastic!

Fantastic to be out and about in the city last night when the current spell of fine weather added to the enjoyment of helping to celebrate the opening night of the Fringe Arts Bath Festival – the city’s annual free festival of contemporary arts.

The who thing – which runs through to June 11th – is spread over several venues but l must single out the installations at the Newark Works where exhibitors are spread over two levels of the former Stothert and Pitt crane works.

Getting permission to use the former industrial space – now readied by the building’s owners for start-up and small businesses – was truly inspirational.

How marvellous to have a central space for the arts.

If only someone could come up with the money to let that be a permanent exhibition space!!

Well done to everyone involved – artists, curators and organisers.

Visit www.fringeartsbath.co.uk for further information.

We visited the Newark Works, 44AD, 15 New Bond Street and the Walcot Chapel.
