Westgate misery

I am not the one to come up with a solution to the problem but all l can do is illustrate the dangers to pedestrians and cyclists using Cheap Street/Westgate Street between 9 and 10 in the morning.

Delivery lorries and refuse carts trying to complete their journeys before the barriers close off the roads at 10am.

It’s no wonder the street kerbs are in such a mess with lorries mounting the pavements to try and get by others stopped to perform their duties.

Someone is going to get hurt. The pavements are so bad l watch mums with pushchairs using the road for a smoother ride for their child.

We need to pioneer some sort of off-road centre where goods could be transferred to smaller delivery vehicles – or restrict the hours of delivery. Go to London and lorries go about their duties all through the night.

What do others think. Shopes need supplies after all.
