Bath High Street is going to be closed to traffic at 2pm on Sunday when the city will be involved in a historical ceremony that follows the death of our Queen Elizabeth the Second.
The Chair of B&NES Cllr Shaun Stephenson-McGall writes on Facebook:
“Following guidance from the Lord Lieutenant’s Office, a proclamation of our new King Charles III will be made on the steps of the Guildhall (Bath) by me, the Chair of Bath and North East Somerset Council, Cllr Shaun Stephenson-McGall, at 2pm. The High Street will be closed to traffic. Residents are welcome to attend this historic event.
Flags will return to half-mast the next day and continue to be flown at half-mast until 8am on the day following the funeral.”
