Pic of the day. Tuesday, January 30th

It would appear most – if not all – of the young trees, planted in the central reservation at the city end of the London Road, have given up the ghost.

They cannot live without water – whether it’s introduced by humankind or nature.

Not the easiest place to run a hose it’s true so, with climate change upon us, maybe palm trees would be a better replacement.

Where l think people could more easily help nature along is outside shops and restaurants where shrubs have been placed to enhance the outside appearance of the business.

These bays are dead

Living things need water. It is sad to see so many olive and bay trees struggling to survive.

It is a damning reflection on today’s society if – instead of nurturing nature – we give up on the real world for even more plastic flowers and foliage.
