Cycled up to Royal Victoria Park this morning to bid farewell to an old friend of the city who has been a regular visitor for many years.
I am talking about Carter’s traditional vintage steam fun fair which is back in Bath for the very last time as it makes its final tour of the country.
This family business includes over 70 years of traditional British fairground rides and side stalls which have been lovingly restored using traditional techniques. There’s a range of rides suitable for toddlers to big kids which date from the 1890s to the 1960s.
The man in charge is Joby Carter and l wanted to know why now was the time to sell up and move on – and what would happen to the fair.
The fair opens daily 11- 7pm and is here in Bath until Monday, August 29th with free entry every day.
