Here’s an unusual but highly artistic pursuit that may be of interest to those looking to do something a bit different with their free time over the summer period.
Roger Houghton draws my attention to a FREE-to-attend botanical printmaking course being held at the Percy Community Centre – starting this Thursday 1.30 and 6 pm.
It’s a six-week course from The Wellbeing College using the cyanotype process to create beautiful floral Prussian blue prints, using the power of the sun and a non-toxic historical chemical process that produces permanent blue and white images. The beauty of cyanotypes is that each print is absolutely unique
Over the 6-week course you will have the opportunity to develop the techniques further by printing onto fabrics, and different kinds of paper as well as creating digital negatives for cyanotypes.
Teaching is friendly, supportive and directed towards personal development.
No experience is necessary, but keen eyes and open minds are useful tools!

Thanks, Richard. If anyone has any trouble booking they can call the Percy Centre on 01225 423014 and someone there should be able to pass a message on to the tutor.
