Come show support for Ukraine

Hundreds of people came together for a ‘Bath stands with Ukraine’ gathering in the city earlier this month, during which more than £3000 raised for charities that support that country.

I have heard that another demonstration is being held this coming Saturday, 26th of March, to show support and solidarity with Ukraine and raise money for the charities that help Ukraine and Ukrainian people.

The recent gathering

Mariya and Jura write:

We are hoping to reach out to as many people as possible and would appreciate your support. Let’s keep up solidarity with Ukrainian people in Bath!

The gathering is from 12 noon on the 26th at Kingston Parade by Bath Abbey.

‘The priority of our event is to show support for Ukraine by raising funds and condemning Putin’s actions. We are hoping to address the following issues during this demonstration:

  • Difficulty of obtaining a visa for Ukrainian refugees and the lengthy/time consuming process of waiting for a visa decision for people who are in the epicentre of war.
  • International corporations are still conducting business or trading with Russia therefore funding the war.
  • Ukraine needs more military support from the U.K., EU, and other countries.

This is a peaceful demonstration, no aggression or discrimination against the Russian people will be tolerated.’
