Long gone are the days when you would see a council employee with a brush and shovel clearing fallen leaves from roadside gutters. These budget-stressed days it doesn’t even seem to happen with mechanical devices either.
My fear is that this is providing a rich mulch for seeds to germinate in and will lead to a damming effect – whenever there is a downpour – with the risk of flooding?
Good morning Richard,
I used to park up Blind Lane when looking after work on the Abbey Cemetery chapel. An unnecessary sign I suspect – but maybe the lane has been used more recently by sharp eyed commuters?
Happy New Year and all best wishes,
Charles

And how about the safety of pedestrians ? The state of pavements is no inducement for a ‘modal shift’ from motor transport to ‘active travel’ !
