A contemporary take on Christmas

A musical celebration of the Christmas story – presented as a sequence of eight original carols – is on offer at St Stephen’s Church, Lansdown on Saturday, December 18th at 7.30.

John Rawles conducts a performance of On Christmas Night – composed by Bob Chilcott who – as a composer, conductor, and singer – has enjoyed a lifelong association with choral music and international reputation.

That was first as a chorister and choral scholar in the choir of King’s College, Cambridge, and for 12 years as a member of the King’s Singers.  He became a full-time composer in 1997, and has produced a large catalogue of music for all types of choirs.

Peter French is the accompanist for this Bath event, the soloist is Katy Thomson and with guest singers – The Notables.
