Another Stephen bids farewell.

(Stephen pictured recently in the newly-opened ‘gym’ section of the Roman Baths.)

We said goodbye to Heritage Services boss Stephen Bird a short while ago and now l hear the Roman Baths and Pump Room manager Stephen Clews is also set to retire at the end of the year.

His successor has been appointed. I am told she’s Amanda Hart who is currently the Director of the Corinium Museum in Cirencester. She will take up her new role in January next year.

Amanda Hart

Amanda told Bath Newseum:

“I am really looking forward to taking up the post in the New Year, meeting the entire team and finding out what goes on behind the scenes at the beautiful Roman Baths. I am excited about sharing my enthusiasm about Roman collections and my archaeological interests, which will bring a new perspective to the stories that we will be able to tell.”

More on this story when l get it. Stephen Clews has had a long and illustrious career here in Bath and will be missed!
