Launch of Hero’s Project

The Royal Commonwealth Society, Bath and District Branch (RCS Bath) is collaborating with 44AD artspace in Abbey Green, University of Bath, and local primary schools to produce an exhibition honouring World War II “Heroes of the Commonwealth”.  It’s being launched at the 44 AD gallery this evening – Thursday, November 4th.

On display will be twelve photographs depicting heroes of the Commonwealth from World War II.

Local schools who are attending will be invited to ‘adopt’ one of these twelve heroes to research, with the aim of creating a collaborative piece of art that represents and celebrates their chosen hero.

Heroes of the Commonwealth will culminate in an art exhibition by participating schools, to be held at 44AD artspace in November 2022, as part of Remembrance Sunday commemorations.

This is also an opportunity to view the current exhibition at 44AD artspace by Millfield School – prizewinners of the RCS Bath Young Artist Prize 2020.
