I now know these newly-placed boxed fruit trees were instigated by the Bath BID and what an amazing difference they make to this ‘backwater’ space.
They bring Abbey Gate Street to life and make it a more pleasant environment to shop in. Well done.
The BID told me: ‘Glad you like them. We were asked to think of ways to enhance the approach to Abbey Quarter and the flowering pears are the result. We are looking forward to their autumn colours.’

provided they keep them watered, when i saw them on Monday a few were looking very thirsty!
