Meanwhile, how surreal is the scene at the Cleveland Bridge – now closed to vehicular traffic for at least 12 weeks while essential repair and strengthening work gets underway.

I walked along Bathwick Street at lunchtime and a few vehicles appeared to be ‘chancing it’ over the bridge. However, when i walked along there this evening there are now large yellow “CCTV” signs in place, and all was quiet !
