A series of films on YouTube is being used to help recruit care workers within B&NES.
The minute long films have been specially commissioned to encourage people to consider a career in adult social care and explore the opportunities available by visiting proudtocare.bathnes.gov.uk
In the films, which can be viewed on Youtube and social media, care workers talk candidly about their jobs and benefits of their chosen career.
Harriet is an Extra Care shift leader. She said: “I love my job because it’s a good amount of responsibility and its fast paced, so I’m always busy and I feel like I’m really doing something important.”
Victor was employed as a chef before switching careers to become a care worker. He said: “Doing this job I can have more work life balance, have some weekend’s off and spend time with my family. I love my job. I like the feeling you are doing something for someone who really needs your help.”
With a growing older population, the need for high quality care workers has never been greater. Nationally there are 112,000 vacancies across the adult social care sector and there are hundreds of jobs available locally.
proudtocare.bathnes.gov.uk lists up-to-date vacancies from nursing, caring, hospitality, maintenance and housekeeping, to admin, leadership, catering and corporate roles.
