Have to say – as of yesterday – repairs to the damaged balustrade beside Pulteney Bridge is coming on a treat.

Not many blocks of Bath stone left to re-fit before all that horrible fencing can come down.

Also seeing good progress in the Sydney Gardens renovation where the Heritage Lottery Fund is helping to transform this former 18th century pleasure ground into a green space for all.

My image shows where the former bowls club-house has recently been demolished to make way for a new children’s play area.

My only concern – given this former Vauxhall’s history and Grade 2 listing – is that there doesn’t appear to have been any archaeology involved in all the soil movement taking place?
