Clambering up the old Avon Street multi-storey car park – to get a good high shot of work around the new pedestrian bridge across the river – l noticed fresh tarmac and white lines on the former coach park alongside Bath College.
I sent an image to B&NES press office and got this reply:
‘Avon street car park is set to close and be redeveloped as part of the Bath Quays North development.

This temporary carpark will mitigate the loss of spaces while the new basement car park is built. ‘
I note the loss of the public toilets too. Seems to be a modern trend – where are visitors to the city supposed to …. or is it a conspiracy to drive people into pubs restaurants (and a few shops)?
