Does allowing a ‘retirement village’ to be built in a town centre undermine its vitality?
Well, according to one Surrey council it does and it’s turned down a developer’s application to spend £100 million building such a complex.
This newspaper story has caught my eye because the same development company wants to do something very similar in Bath.
But, will it be welcomed here or not. You’ve got one more day to have your say.

I have approached Living Guild for comment.
It is my understanding the application could well come before the B&NES planning committee before Christmas.

I think there are more positives than negatives on the principle of the development. The detail design of the specific physical development may be a different matter.
