Well, if B&NES won’t listen to me continually asking when will the Laura Place Fountain – and other heritage structures – be repaired. Maybe they will take notice of the floral makeover it’s just received.
Thanks to Dr Michael Pritchard – who is a photographic historian by the way – for the images.
As he says:
“The Laura Place Fountain had a welcome makeover yesterday.
No sign of the damage being repaired unfortunately. “

I love it! Well done to the Bath Flower School for taking the initiative! A great way of self-promoting the business but also high-lighting how neglected that poor old structure is.
I talked to Verity Porter and Sally Dodds-Smith of Bath Flower School earlier this morning.
It’s not actually all that old.
The base is!
Looks lovely. I suppose repairs that are not urgent are last in list of priorities for hard stretched BANEs
Laura Place as a whole needs a complete makeover and made into a pedestrian friendly “Liveable Neighbourhood” instead of a glorified traffic island cum car park. The potential is huge – you only have to look at old post cards of the place.
