Danny Moar, the Director of Bath’s Theatre Royal has welcomed the government’s announcement that indoor performances can resume – with socially distanced audiences – from August 1st.
However’, he told Bath Newseum, ‘until we receive further clarification on the social distancing measures required, and the impact this will have on our seating capacity, it will not be practical or economically viable for us to reopen immediately.
Likewise, many touring productions take time to prepare and rehearse shows, so will not be ready to come to us yet.
However, this is another very welcome step on the road map towards being able to welcome audiences back to the Theatre Royal Bath soon.’
