With the pandemic and social distancing in mind, Apex City of Bath Hotel has partnered up with a local digital company to bring the addition of virtual conferencing services to its customers – once the hotel is allowed to reopen.

Not only will the services be available whilst social distancing measures are in place, but it will also be a permanent upgrade to the conference and events facilities on offer.

Apex’s Bath property is working with Genero Group to provide the new digital business solutions.

Phil Bailey, Group MICE Sales Director, said: “At Apex we are aware that there is now a need for new ways for our clients to be able to continue to hold conferences, business meetings, and networking events.

“We aim to provide that solution whilst working with local businesses who will be on-hand to fit and set up all the equipment needed for each meeting – and our clients will be able to get their knowledge and expertise first-hand from each company.”

Apex City of Bath Hotel is the city’s largest purpose-built conference and events facility and can hold up to 400 people theatre style in the Lansdown suite with nine other rooms available to suit every need.

Genero Group will be able to set up meetings online, allowing people to participate from  their office or home when they are unable to attend in person.

Phil continues: “This allows us to accept bookings for conferences of 400+ delegates which normally we wouldn’t be able to accommodate.

“This is not a replacement of our current conference offering, as always we are working on ways in which we can enhance our services and give our clients more options.”

The technology, which will soon be available to businesses, will allow them to not only hold standard conferences, but also allow users with the opportunity to network, break-out into teams, and take part in live tours. What’s more, it can all be recorded for those who may not be able to attend in real-time.

Phil added: “The future of C&E is a hot topic in the industry right now and we are working on how we can offer these services across our portfolio of hotels and are currently in talks with technology companies in London, Edinburgh and Dundee too to make this a reality.

“I would encourage anyone who is looking at holding future events to get in touch to find out how we can build a bespoke package for you and your business.”
