Bath’s MP, Wera Hobhouse, is taking to Zoom next Wednesday for the first of a series of face to face events she is holding with local and influential people in which you – the public – can join in.
She says:
“The free, online events are a wonderful opportunity to get informed and to ask questions of me and our community leaders.
In my first public meeting on Wednesday evening, 13th May, from 6 – 7:30 pm, I will speak with Dr Bharat Pankhania.
Over the past three months, Combe Down Councillor Dr Bharat Pankhania has become a regular feature in the press and on social media as a commentator on Covid-19.
An expert on infectious diseases and public health, Dr Pankhania has over 20 years of experience in the field, and is currently a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Exeter.
Dr Pankhania will talk with me about the response to the crisis locally and nationally, and the outlook over the coming weeks and months. We will then both be available for questions from the floor. Sign up for your free Zoom link here.

Question for Dr Pankhania and Wera Hobhouse MP, since I suspect it is partially political. Having gone to the trouble to create a number of Nightingale hospitals around the country, would it be a good idea to using them as isolation hospitals for Covid 19 patients, and thus relieve the strain on the normal hospitals for the remaining health care issues? Is it a question of medical carers being too short to properly staff the hospitals?
