Just in case you are wondering why scaffolding is going up at Bath’s Guildhall, a press spokesperson told me: ‘We’re repainting windows. The work should be done by the end of March.’

  1. Perhaps they will also make them draft proof as those in the Record Office really leak where I (a volunteer) sometimes need to sit at a computer screen.
