Can we hope that there will be a little traditional festival magic for children to look forward to after the Christmas Market and its drinking ‘stations’ have been packed away again?
Whether or not the ‘gallopers’ return, l have been told we very nearly got our own big wheel.
I am hearing that there were plans to erect one in Parade Gardens but the idea was shelved when they realised Grand Parade was not sufficiently reinforced to carry the weight of the crane required to lift the parts from lorry to lawn.
Just a rumour but city walls have ears.
We had The Widcombe Eye big wheel at Widcombe Rising street parties when the carousel was deemed too wide for the narrow road. Fabulous views over the roof tops!
