The Kingsmead Square Street Food Market is heading back to central Bath at the end of next month and the organisers say it’s going to bigger, brighter and more delicious than ever before.
Kingsmead Street Food Square will held – Friday to Sunday, from 29th Nov tp the 15th Dec and from 11am-9pm. On Sundays it will close at 6pm.
It promises to be a festive, foodie wonderland – nestled alongside the Bath Christmas Market across nine days – and supplying the perfect pit-stop for shoppers, food-lovers, tourists, Bathonians and everyone in between.

It’s hoped the event will encourage more people into the city centre and act as an advertisement for the diverse range of businesses in and around Kingsmead Square,
Lindsay Holdoway, Managing Director of event sponsors HPH Commercial Property based on Kingsmead Square, said, “The Kingsmead Square Street Food Market offers something different to the bustling Christmas Market.
Over recent years it has developed a strong identity synonymous with excellent food and a vibrant atmosphere, allowing visitors to Kingsmead Square a chance to unwind and refuel.
“It also offers city centre workers a fantastic lunchtime and after-work alternative where they can enjoy an eclectic choice of food along with a glass of mulled wine.
“Festivals and markets in the city are important at a time when high streets are going through a period of change. With the recent loss of several shops and restaurants, and the number of empty units rising, it is important we diversify and encourage events which bring people to the centre of Bath and enhance their experience.”

Andy Furse, Kingsmead Ward Councillor, added “Kingsmead Square has, over a number of years, become a cafe and food focal point of the city centre and the street food market during the Christmas market adds to the square as a food destination.”
Speaking about the range of food on offer this year, Event Director Sophie Bowden said, “We’ve selected only the best street food to be part of this years’ event and we’re working with local traders so that we can deliver a varied and ever changing line-up of street food each day. Follow our social media accounts to see who’ll be there; you’ll not be disappointed with the award winning plethora of global street food on offer.”
Visitors can expect a diverse line-up of 18 of the South West’s finest street food traders, serving lip-smackingly good kerb-side cuisine using locally-sourced and seasonal produce. From next-level sourdough grilled cheese toasties packed with melted regional cheeses to award-winning buttermilk soaked wings, wood-fired pizzas or Istanbul-inspired kebabs served straight off a Mangal grill.

Great food needs great drinks and the market’s Moonshine bar will be serving up some of the best mulled drinks in Bath; boozy hot chocolates, crisp local pilsners and guest ale will also be available alongside the Christmas favourites of organic mulled wine and spiced Somerset cider to get you in the holiday spirit.
Across the 9-days, there’ll be a jam-packed programme of live music and DJs dishing out the festive tunes so – say the organisers – dig out your Christmas jumpers, dust off your dancing shoes and prepare to dive head first into foodie heaven.
