Green-fingered seeing red.

Green-fingered users of a long-established garden centre at Bathford have been seeing red at the news that the business could make way for a mini housing estate.

The owner of the land has applied to B&NES for planning permission to demolish the nursery buildings – on the Box Road near the Batheaston border – and erect eight houses.

According to the planning application, the garden centre is unsustainable to maintain but Tony Norris who has run Bathford Nurseries for 15 years said that, although his landlord had mentioned an application more than a year ago, the actual submission came out of the blue and he was hoping to get as much public support as possible to save his livelihood
